“  Ambassador Dr. Carlos Garcia spoke about the importance of Sustainable Development Goal 17

(Public-Private Partnerships) as a tool contributing to the financing of development programs that United Nations Member States can advance, following the roadmap established by the 17 SDGs. He also highlighted the role of various Christian groups in promoting sustainable development from the perspective of their faith. “

Drawing upon more than twenty-five years of executive leadership in higher education and international engagement, Dr. Sandres demonstrated how strategic partnerships among governments, universities, the private sector, nonprofit organizations, and international agencies have expanded educational access, strengthened

workforce development, secured more than $40 million in grant funding, and advanced social mobility across multiple countries. He emphasized that sustainable development is achieved not through isolated efforts, but through trust, collaboration, and shared leadership, calling on global leaders to strengthen cross-sector partnerships as the foundation for building more resilient, equitable, and prosperous communities. “

World News | New York | New York State Honours Global Peace Leader Prof. Sir. Dr. Madhu Krishan with Multiple Prestigious Civic Recognitions

A series of high-profile civic ceremonies across New York State recognized His Eminence Prof. Sir. Dr. Madhu Krishan, an eminent scientist, humanitarian, educator, and global peace advocate, for his lifelong contributions to humanitarian service, education, scientific advancement, international cooperation, and peace-building.

The recognition began with the New York State Assembly, where Assemblyman His Excellency Er. Angelo Santabarbara presented His Eminence with a Citation of Honour. The award acknowledged his decades of leadership in promoting global peace, humanitarian initiatives, environmental stewardship, education, and international collaboration.

The ceremony was attended by distinguished dignitaries, including H.E. Dr. Philip Fields, Secretary of the New York State Assembly – Ways and Means Committee; H.E Dr. John Mootooveren, Councilman of the City of Schenectady; diplomats, senior government officials, civic leaders, and invited international guests.

During the official visit, the Police Commissioner of Schenectady presented His Eminence Prof. Sir. Dr. Madhu Krishan with the Prestigious Medal of Honour in recognition of his outstanding humanitarian leadership and lifelong service to humanity. The Schenectady Police Department also accorded him a Guard of Honour and provided an official security detail throughout his engagements in the city.

Further recognizing his global humanitarian impact, His Excellency Mr. Gary R McCarthy The Hon,ble Mayor of the City of Schenectady issued an Official Proclamation honouring His Eminence for his enduring commitment to peace-building, education, humanitarian service, environmental sustainability, disaster management, and global human rights advocacy.

In one of the most significant moments of the visit, Hon’ble Mayor His Excellency Mr. Gary R. McCarthy officially proclaimed 1 July 2026 as historical “The Day of His Eminence Prof. Sir. Dr. Madhu Krishan” in the City of Schenectady, New York. The proclamation formally recognizes his extraordinary international contributions and establishes the date as a historic civic observance honouring his legacy of humanitarian service, global peace, education, scientific excellence, and international friendship.

Another highlight of the visit took place during an international goodwill ceremony involving the Hon’ble Mayor of Albany City, Her Excellency Dr. Dorcey Applyrs. On the occasion, the The American University USA Inc. (AUGP) and The United Nations University For Global Peace Inc. USA  (UNUGP) presented Her Excellency with the Human Excellence Golden Award in recognition of her distinguished public leadership, civic service, and commitment to community development.

In return, Her Excellency Dr. Dorcey Applyrs presented His Eminence Prof. Sir. Dr. Madhu Krishan with a Citation of Honour, recognizing his exceptional contributions to global peace, humanitarian service, education, international cooperation, and the advancement of humanity.

His Eminence serves as Founder and Chairman of the Academy of Universal Global Peace (USA) and Chairman cum Chief Rector of The American University USA Inc. and The United Nations University For Global Peace Inc., USA. Through these institutions, he has led numerous international initiatives dedicated to education, humanitarian development, peace-building, environmental awareness, scientific research, and global cooperation.

Gary Hughes Presented Proclamation , Citation In the Legislature in the Presence  of H.E. Dr. John Mootooveren The Councilman and other members of the Legislature.
